This template policy has been developed to help Visual Media Association members implement a policy that outlines your business’ aims and principles in relation to managing the environmental effects of its operations. It is also a beneficial policy to implement if you intend to apply for government tenders and for demonstrating to customers that your business is committed to managing your environmental impacts in a responsible way.
To assist members, we have developed this policy which is a template and requires customisation prior to implementation in your business.
Modern slavery is a term used to describe where offenders use coercion, threats or deception to exploit victims and undermine their freedom. The Commonwealth Modern Slavery Act 2018 requires the Commonwealth Government, large businesses and other organisations with annual consolidated revenue of $100 million or more (reporting entities) to prepare annual Modern Slavery Statements reporting on their efforts to assess and address modern slavery risks in their global operations and supply chains.
There are benefits for businesses of all sizes from voluntarily implementing such a statement even if not legislatively required, including if your customer requires such a statement. As suppliers to larger entities, smaller businesses may be asked to provide information to help those organisations meet any reporting or other obligations. If you cannot provide this information, it may become harder to do business with these customers.
To assist members, we have developed a voluntary Modern Slavery Statement for members to customise and implement in their business if required or desirable.
